PDN's Promos We Kept: 2013 PDN's 30 on Tumblr →
pdnpromoswekept: During our recent PDN’s 30 seminar at the School for Visual Arts Theater, photographers Geordie Wood and Bon Duke both talked about Tumblr as a useful part of their social media presence. Not only is it helping photographers network with, and share the work of, their peers. It also gives… Good list! I like tumblr but only because of the cat gifs

Spend a lot of money on photography but not on gear. Its the only way you really get anything done. Shooting a project is never cheap and 99 percent of the time those expenses don’t include lenses or other slick, shiny photo stuff. It is always much more banal things like plane tickets, film, crappy hotels, lunch etc etc that cost a lot.

“Jake Stangel advises new photographers not to “look down on” assisting. “There’s...”
– A bunch of good ladies and dudes on assisting, gear, and other things on how to do the damn thing. (via jakestangel) Truth ya’ll. There’s no shame in assisting. I assist my friends all the time and usually learn something in the process.
