As far as I know, I had never lost a roll of film in my life until April when my wife and I went to Seattle on vacation for 6 days. I shot a bunch of 35mm film and kept stuffing it in a small zipper pocket in my messenger bag. On the flight home, my bag was stuffed full. When I got back to my house, I noticed I was missing 5 or 6 rolls. I looked everywhere and just finally assumed they were lost for good. My Mother in Law called me last week to tell me she found 5 rolls of film stuffed in a weird pocket of a carry on suitcase in her basement. I have no recollection of doing that but I’ll certainly take it.
Even though they were mostly just snapshots of my vacation, I was pretty bummed out when I lost film. It’s a weird thing to make your peace and forget the photos and then 5 months later, get a chance to look at photos you thought were dead and gone.
Here is the requisite shot of the city from the Queen Ann. Total tourist move.
