Michael David Friberg

I got called for this assignment and I couldn’t do it so I passed it along to the homey Erik Daenitz and in hindsight, that was definitely for the best because he absolutely shot the living hell out of it. Such a weird story. It’s about two young sisters who compete in adult distance running races. See Erik’s full full gallery here.

Alberto Salazar screws in track spikes in Provo, Utah for ESPN the magazine.
Alberto Salazar is Galen Rupp’s coach with the Nike Oregon Project and he is something of a legend in the running community. The guy was relentless on the morning we shot, jogging or doing pushups and situps most of the time while he coached Galen on speed work. Him and Rupp have been together since Rupp was 14 when Salazar was coaching highschool track and cross country. Pretty crazy. Full edit here.
Shout out to my homie Erik Daenitz for assisting on this shoot. He mitigates my organized chaos well and is tall enough to hang my seamless without a step ladder.
